A while between posts...oh hello 2014

First things first, apologies for a huge gap since my last post. I am a bit ashamed that my poor blog has been so awfully neglected!

Various things have kept me busy and away from my computer...

Firstly I had a little stall at Finders Keepers in Sydney last December and as usual the girls who organise it did a great job. It was a big, bustling busy event and Pouch artworks where flying off the stall!  Here is a sneaky snap of my stall set up. Lovely to meet all my loyal customers who have been following me & my journey with Pouch for a while. Also great to meet some new faces, put names to faces of those I had been in contact with or those I found via Pinterest or Instagram. Finders Keepers is such an important event for all those small creative businesses like me...its a great way to introduce people to your work and also finally meet all those craft crushes I have had on all the creatives I see and hear about! A few special mentions need to be said to my trusty team of friends who helped me through the manic few days...My muscles - Mr Adam Powell, my lovely smiley friend Sophie who is the best sales assistant due to her un-dwindling enthusiasm! And to my lovely friend Gemma who again, only needs to  flash her smile and the customers come-a-running! You guys ROCK!

Then Christmas happened...and there was a lot of orders to get out the door before I jetted off on an exciting adventure...

The Honeymoon! Yep it finally happened...only 18 months late, but well worth the wait. Officially the honeymoon didn't start until we set foot in Mexico on 2nd Jan 2014, because before we got there we stopped off for Christmas in Cape Cod, USA to spend an amazing time with my family who all flew in from various corners of the world. We ate, drank and were very merry! It even snowed on Christmas Day which is so special. After that we hoped on a train to New York where we spent New Years with our friends who live there. We squeezed in an insane amount in only 4 days and it was incredible. A small snippet of what we did: ice skating in Central Park, eating a reuben sandwich at the famous Katz deli, Staten Island ferry, drinking in the oldest pub in NYC, walking the Highline, shopping in Saks 5th Ave, eating pizza, eating steak and so much more!! Then we finally arrived in Mexico for our honeymoon and it was just perfect. I won't bore you with all the details but all I will say is that we loved every second of it. The colonial towns with horse & carts, the steamy countryside, the luxurious haciendas, the food (oh the food!), the Carribean sea and the beaches of the Yucatan...all bliss...Here are a few photos of what I saw, ate, did, drank and hope you enjoy...

And finally a bit of news on what is coming up in 2014...

On 13th, 14th, 15th February I will be at taking part in the fantastic trade show in Sydney Life Instyle. So all you stores, stockists and retailers can find me in the First Instyle section. I am hoping to meet some new friends, make some contacts and get some fab new stockists on board for 2014.  Come say hello if you are visiting the show.

Sadly Eveleigh Artisan Markets are no more...they stopped at the end of 2013 and I am missing my monthly stall with the amazing creatives there. I am hoping to find myself a spot at another local market, but in the meantime, you can buy everything online and there are some NEW DESIGNS so be sure to check them out!
